Description
Pošip wine is produced from white grapes of the same name, Pošip, which thrive in the Čara area on the island of Korčula. During the summer period, the gentle maestral wind cools the vineyards on Korčula and contributes to moderate air temperatures that provide ideal conditions for this white grape variety. The fermentation of Pošip takes place slowly at a controlled low temperature of around 12 °C. Under these conditions, Pošip wine retains the flavor of its varietal and fruity aromas.
After fermentation, the wine is aged for four to six months in special French oak barrels. Due to the low air supply, the wine breathes and continues to develop. At the same time, through the oak barrels, the wine is enriched with pleasant extracts of vanilla aroma. After bottling in 0.75 L bottles, the wine matures for about six months in our cool cellar. During this time, the diversity of Pošip wine flavors blends with the aromas of oak barrels and creates a unique bouquet, typical of wines produced according to the Miljenko Grgić method. After the production process, it contains 13–14.5% alcohol and a pleasant 6 g of acidity per liter.
